9hp RSW Refrigerated Sea Water Chiller Unit For Fish Handling

The Refrigerated Sea Water (RSW) chiller is a crucial and specialized piece of equipment predominantly utilized in the fishing sector. It plays a vital role in maintaining the freshness of the harvested fish. Storing the catch within an RSW system represents an efficient and economical approach to preserve the fish until they are offloaded ashore or undergo further processing on board. In a remarkably short time frame, the catch is rapidly cooled to a temperature proximate to the freezing point of seawater, thereby guaranteeing its freshness and quality during transportation.

Within an RSW system, seawater is continuously recirculated by powerful pumps. It first passes through the chilling system where the RSW chiller works its magic to lower the temperature. Before entering the storage tanks, the seawater is cooled to the desired level by the refrigeration apparatus. The chilled seawater is then evenly dispersed across the entire bottom cross-section of the tanks via a series of perforated plates or similar distribution mechanisms. As it moves upwards through the tank and the layers of fish, it keeps the fish in a semi-floating state while simultaneously cooling them. The water then returns through suction screens located at the top of the tanks and makes its way back to the chilling unit of the system. Subsequently, this circulation process is repeated, ensuring a constant and optimal cooling environment for the fish stored in the RSW system.
