12hp RSW Chiller Cooling Systems For Small Fishing Boats

The refrigerated sea water chiller (RSW Chiller) is a key apparatus in the fishing industry, as it quickly reduces the temperature of the catch to the freezing point of seawater within a minimal time span, making it essential for maintaining the freshness of the catch. In an RSW system, seawater is pumped in a continuous loop. The RSW chiller is the heart of the refrigeration process, cooling the seawater before it enters the tanks. Through a set of perforated plates or comparable distribution tools, the chilled seawater is evenly spread across the full bottom area of the tanks. As it ascends through the tank, passing through the layers of fish, it not only cools the fish but also keeps them semi-suspended. The water then returns via suction screens at the top of the tanks to the RSW chiller for reheating and the cycle resumes, maintaining a consistent and suitable environment for the stored fish. This specialized equipment offers an economical and effective solution to keep the fish in prime condition until they are either unloaded on land or processed further while still on the vessel.
